As Indonesia's new President takes over the reins for the country’s next five years, many in the oil and gas industry await the impact on the energy sector. We asked Indonesian political expert and commentator Kevin Evans and Jayden Vantarakis, Deputy Head of Indonesian Research at CLSA, Asia’s leading independent equity brokerage, for their views on Indonesia’s energy future under new government.

Both Kevin and Jayden are incrementally positive on Indonesia's oil and gas outlook post-election.

Kevin believes President Jokowi's reputation as a problem solver is key.

Jayden takes the view that given the current magnitude of negative economic impact resulting from Indonesia's oil & gas deficit, the new government will be compelled to find ways to stimulate investment and thus raise domestic production.

Moderated by Risco’s Angus Graham, Kevin Evans and Jayden Vantarakis' articles can be read in the full length version of "Game changer", which also features with additional articles in Risco Insights Quarterly No1
